RAS BADJAO & THE TARAKIS

RAS BADJAO & THE TARAKIS
roots, rock, reggae

The Tarakis is a collective of musicians that have come around Ras Badjao to support reggae music in Iowa.  This is truly a world music project, featuring musicians from the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Chile. The Tarakis live sets feature many Bob Marley classics with some other reggae covers mixed in and a sprinkling of original songs.

The band is comfortable in both stripped down acoustic settings or as a full ensemble:

Feedback the Tarakis received from their performance at the World Food and Music Festival was very positive:

“I heard you singing from our booth and I thought they had plugged in a Bob Marley & the Wailers CD! That’s how good you guys sounded!!”

“Another great performance!! The outdoor venue was awesome. Jorgen ripped it up again with some amazing solos!! He’s the pedal master!!”
